Meet Mrs. D

Welcome to my blog space!

My name is Chelsey Driedger and I am in my first year of Arts Education with a concentration in Drama at the University of Regina.  I transferred over from the Fine Arts Department, and it has been over 5 years since I last attended University. I took a break to stay home and raise my family. I currently reside in Estevan, Saskatchewan with my husband, 3 sons, 2 cats, 1 dog and a turtle!

My passion for theater started at a young age. I still remember my first role as an orphan in the Musical Annie. From that point on, I was involved in every production I could be a part of. Whether that meant I was on stage acting or behind the scenes  or stage managing. I was happy as long as I was able to be involved. My experiences weren’t limited to theater. I was also involved in band, choir, jazz band, jazz choir, basketball, volleyball and badminton.

Some of my most influential mentors growing up were my choir teachers and my basketball coaches. They went above and beyond the role of educator/ coach. They were my mentor, friend and at times filled in as a parental role and I greatly looked up to them. I believe that they are a huge part of the reason I am where I am today and the person that I am today. I hope that I can be as great a teacher as they were!

I don’t have a lot of free time (#busymomof3boys) but I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching basketball, watching live theater, and getting my creativity on.

This blog space is dedicated to documenting my learning progress and helping create a Profesional Learning Network.
